1962: Nace en Montevideo, Uruguay. Artista visual, docente y ensayista. Autodidacta, aunque se reconoce como discípulo de Manuel Domínguez Nieto y Manuel Espínola Gómez.
1981: hasta el presente: ha expuesto en numerosas exposiciones colectivas en instituciones públicas y privadas dentro y fuera del Uruguay (Estados Unidos, España, Inglaterra, Francia, Italia, Polonia, Eslovenia, Portugal, Austria, Colombia, Brasil y Bolivia).
1985: hasta el presente: ha expuesto de forma individual en galerías de arte privadas e instituciones culturales en algunas de las principales capitales del mundo (New York, París, Barcelona, Viena y Buenos Aires).
1986: De las muestras colectivas, cabe destacar la “V Bienal de Artes Gráficas”, en la que expone junto a Chuck Close, Jim Dine, Luis Caballero, Liliana Porter, Antonio Seguí, Rafael Canogar y José Gamarra, entre otros (Cali, Colombia).
Fue elegido por el Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales (MNAV) y por el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo (MAC) para representar a Uruguay en exposiciones internacionales en Francia y Colombia, respectivamente.
Obtuvo una docena de primeros premios en el ámbito local, premios compartidos en el ámbito regional (Almanaque INCA, Salón Municipal, SIArte Bolivia, etc.) y dos primeros premios en concursos internacionales periféricos.
A modo de ejemplo:
1985: 1er. Premio Salón Municipal de Artes Plásticas de Montevideo.
1986: 1er. Premio Nacional Salón de Dibujo del Banco de la República O. del Uruguay.
1995: 1er. Premio Beca Fundación Banco Pan de Azúcar. (Como consecuencia de esta distinción, entre 1997 y 1998 profundizó sus estudios teóricos sobre Estética del Arte en la ciudad de París.)
1997: 1er. Premio otorgado por la galería japonesa Kokusai Bijutzu Shingikaï en el “9º Gran Premio Internacional de Artes Plásticas de Niza”, Francia.
1999: 1er. Premio a la Obra gráfica contemporánea, Acea´s, Barcelona.
1999: Recibe los Títulos de “Académico Correspondiente” y “Caballero Académico”, otorgados por la “Academia Internazionale Greci-Marino de las Letras, Artes y Ciencias” (Vinzaglio- No, Italia).
2000: 1er. Premio en el Salón de Primavera de Salto, entre otros.
2001: Dirigió varias performances, entre las que se destaca “AB-OVO” junto a la modelo rusa Julia Anochina, en Barcelona, España.
1987-2013: Varios músicos uruguayos compusieron piezas originales para las exposiciones individuales de Oscar Larroca: Pollo Píriz, Mauricio Riva, Renzo Teflón, y Fernando Cabrera.
2003: Recibe la “Medalla de Honor” de parte de la “Sociedad Académica de Estímulo a las Artes, las Ciencias y las Letras” (París, Francia), en reconocimiento a su trabajo artístico. Ese mismo año es becado para participar de un seminario de Filosofía del Arte en la Sorbonne (Université IV) de París.
2004: La Cámara Uruguaya del Libro lo seleccionó como finalista para la obtención del Premio Bartolomé Hidalgo en la categoría “Revelación” por su libro La mirada de Eros: aproximación a la temática erótica en las artes visuales y otros ensayos vinculados a la creación artística.
2004: hasta el presente: colaborador de Kapanät (Mallorca), Tiempo de Crítica, El País Cultural, entre otras publicaciones.
2007: Edita La suspensión del tiempo: acercamiento a la filosofía de Manuel Espínola Gómez. Este trabajo obtuvo Primera Mención en los Premios Nacionales de Literatura en la categoría “Ensayo de arte.”
2009: Su nombre fue propuesto para ser becado por la Fundación Guggenheim.
2011: Recibió el “Premio Figari” (XVI) a la Trayectoria Artística. El mayor reconocimiento otorgado por el Estado uruguayo a un artista con vida.
2013: Curador general de la “X Bienal de Salto”.
2013: Como compilador edita el libro Luego existen: Trece intelectuales uruguayos de hoy.

1986: From the collective exhibits he has participated, it is worth mentioning, the “Vth Biennial of Graphic Arts” where he exhibits alongside Chuck Close, Jim Dine, Luis Caballero, Liliana Porter, Antonio Seguí, Rafael Canogar and José Gamarra, among others (Cali, Colombia).
He was elected by the National Museum or Visual Arts in Montevideo (MNAV) and by the Contemporary Art Museum (MAC) to represent Uruguay at international exhibitions to be held in France and Colombia respectively.
OHe has been awarded the first prize in a dozen of occasions in Uruguay, shared prizes in the region (INCA Almanac, Town Council’s Exhibition, SIArte Bolivia, etc.) and two first prizes in peripheral international competitions.

1985: 1st Prize Town Hall Plastic Art Exhibition in Montevideo.
1986: 1st Prize at the National Drawing Exhibition from the Banco de la República O. del Uruguay.
1995: 1st Prize Scholarship Banco Pan de Azúcar Foundation. As a consequence of this prize, he deepened his theoretical studies about Art Esthetics in Paris between 1997 and 1998.
1997: 1st Prize awarded by the Japanese Art Gallery Kokusai Bijutzu Shingikaï at the 9th International Grand Prix of Plastic Arts in Nice, France.
1999: 1st Prize for the Contemporary Work of Art, Acea´s, Barcelona.
1999: He is awarded the “Correspondent Academician” and “Academician Man of Honour” by the “International Academy Greci-Marino of Literature, Arts and Sciences” (Vinzaglio- No, Italia).
2000: 1st Prize in the Spring Exhibition at Salto, Uruguay.
2001: He has directed several artistic performances, among which can be highlighted “AB-OVO” together with the Russian model Julia Anochina, in Barcelona, Spain.
1987-2013: His individual exhibitions have featured original music composed by several Uruguayan musicians such as: Pollo Píriz, Mauricio Riva, Renzo Teflón and Fernando Cabrera.
2003: He is awarded the “Medal of Honour” from the “Academic Society of Stimulus to Arts, Sciences and Literature” (Paris, France), in recognition to his artistic work. He receives a scholarship to participate in a Philosophy of Art Seminar at the Sorbonne University (Université IV) in Paris that same year.
2004: The Uruguayan Book Chamber selected him as a finalist to obtain the Bartolomé Hidalgo Prize at the National Book Exhibition as a “Breakout Author” for his bookEros’ look: approach to the erotic themes in visual arts and other essays related to the artistic creation.
2004: up to now: collaborator in several publications: Kapanät (Mallorca), Tiempo de Crítica, El País Cultural(Uruguay).
2007: Publishes The suspension of time: an approach to the philosophy of Manuel Espínola Gómez. This book obtained the First Mention in the “Art Essay” category at the National Literature Prize of Uruguay.
2009: He is proposed as a candidate for a scholarship at the Guggenheim Foundation.
2011: He receives the “Figari Prize” (XVI) as recognition for his Artistic Career. This is the maximum recognition the Uruguayan Government awards to a living artist.
2013: General Curator of the “Xth Biennial of Salto”, Uruguay.
2013: He works as a compiler and then as an editor of the book And yet they exist: Thirteen intellectuals of our time.
